Experiencing Out
About the Program
Experiencing Out is a unique opportunity for students to document relevant cultural experiences in lieu of academic exercises. This program allows students to earn academic credit through meaningful community participation.
What It Is
The program honors our community’s traditions and way of life while meeting educational requirements. Students can participate in:
- Subsistence activities (fishing, hunting, berry gathering)
- Cultural preservation activities
- Community service
- Traditional crafts and skills
- Elder mentorship

Requirements
Students must document their experiences and reflect on what they learned. Requirements may vary by grade level and school.
